All Baltic countries have a sharply reduced birth rate since the late 1980s, which may account for the anticipated falls in their populations. However Lithuania has experienced more extreme changes than the others since the last War.

Reductions in birth numbers occurred during the early 1920s and mid to end 1940s. The fall during the mid 1960s is at odds with events further west in Europe.

How do these changes affect the ratio of males to females
