Whereas Poland has a characteristic central European growth pattern, its
fairly vigorous growth until 1990 is clearly interrupted and now reversing.
In striking contrast the traumatic events of around 1990 appear to have
reinvigorated Lithuania at the same time as sending Latvia into a sharp
decline. Estonia appears to have recovered after a ten year period of
hesitation.
