The number of women increases more rapidly with age in Czechia reaching about 2.5 to 1 by 75 compared with 1-1.5 to 1 elsewhere in the region. Male life expectation is greatest in Switzerland.

Both Germany and Austria show signs of a higher relative loss of men in the 75 to 95 age groups (born in 1905 to 1925). This is the generation which was needed during the wars.
