There are more women than men after about 55 in both the US and Canada. In Mexico a slight disproportion begins at age 25 but increases more gently than in either US or Canada after 55.

The female per male ratio increases more rapidly, after about 55, for the Eastern Europe, Balkans, and Baltic regions reaching about twice that for Southern Europe and Scandinavia by age 85. NW and Central Europe diverge from the latter from about age 80.There is no data for the over 85 age groups for Eastern European countries.
