14 November 2008. The Council of U3As in Nepal is now registered under legal framework of government of Nepal as an Non-governmental organization from the date of November 12, 2008. The NGO will be serving as association of all U3As functioning within Nepal.

September 2 2008 Mr. Hem Raj Lekhak, Vice President of Council and Mr. Jeevan Raj Lohani, Honorary Member met Secretary of Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, Mr. Punya Prasad Neupane at his office in Singhadurbar, Kathmandu. We briefed him about U3A concept, the progress made so far and also shared the findings of Seminar on Population Ageing and Development organized in GBSSI, Allhabad. A report can be found here.

Mr. Ram Hari Pant has facilitated the formation of 5 u3a groups in chitwan district with involvement of more than 150 members in total. There is a report on their initial meeting here....
