MENTORING
The Granny Cloud is an independent team of volunteers that reaches out to children all over the world (India, Greenland, Jamaica, Colombia) who typically do not have access to adequate educational facilities. ‘Grannies’ interact with children in all kinds of settings. Sessions can be as short as 20 minutes; while others last up to an hour.

The term ‘Granny' can be misleading! Grannies are of all ages, and there are both men and women, from different walks of life. What they have in common is a warm, encouraging, friendly ‘grandmother’ approach and they use that to enable children to think, question, figure things out for themselves and communicate. Most certainly NO LESSONS, but children learn a great deal and experience the world far removed from their own.

If you want to consider becoming a Granny, do visit the website and fill in the application. http://thegrannycloud.org/become-a-granny/

POETRY GROUPS
The Poetry Archive is a not-for-profit organisation that makes and acquires recordings of poets from around the English-speaking world and makes substantial excerpts from them freely available online.

When a poet dies without making a recording, a precious resource is lost for ever and as time goes by that loss is felt more and more keenly. By recording poets reading their own work, The Poetry Archive preserves for future generations uniquely valuable voices which might otherwise be lost. You may also hear recordings of CLASSIC POEMS from the past read by contemporary poets.

UK GROUPS - British Library

Captain Cook's three voyages shaped Europe's knowledge of the world, yet had far-reaching consequences for the people of the lands they touched. On this website you will find a range of different perspectives, and these include responses from people of the communities Cook encountered. The Exhibition is adjacent to Euston, Kings Cross and St Pancras Stations and it's open during August 2018. A visit is strongly recommended.
