DANCE GROUPS
The RAD is gradually introducing Silver Swans classes across the world in the next few years. From September 2017 Silver Swans classes are available in selected parts of the UK (and the US) and are open to people of all ages and abilities. Silver Swans Licensed Teachers are trained specifically to teach ballet to adults over 55 with a range of abilities but all ages are welcome. Open, fun and accessible, these classes will help improve your mobility, posture, coordination, and energy levels, no matter how old you are.
U3A ONLINE COURSES

A new course - Maths, Number Theory - is now available for independent study, starting and stopping at will. This is Recreational Maths with a Refresher Unit to start - at last we can find out why Maths is fun and Numbers are exciting. It's a great follow on from the 'Train Your Brain' course.

AIUTA - UKRAINE

On invitation Prof Artur Horbovyy, President Ukraine U3As, Prof François Vellas, AIUTA President had meeting with Vice Minister of Education Volodymyr Kovtunets and with the President of National Science-Technological Association of Ukraine, Vitor Ivchenko. AIUTA will be associate to the Ukraine National Policy to develop U3As in the whole country.

A l'invitation du Professeur Artur Horbovyy, Président des Universités du troisième Age, François Vellas, President de l'AIUTA a rencontré le Vice Ministre de l'Education Nationale Volodymyr Kovtunets et a participé à une réunion de travail sur le développement des universités du troisième age avec le Président de la National Science-Technological Association of Ukraine, Vitor Ivchenko. L'AIUTA sera associée à la définition de la Politique National de l'Ukraine pour favoriser le développement des Universités du Troisième Age dans l'ensemble de l'Ukraine.

AIUTA - Chinese and Balears visit to Toulouse
Prof François Vellas, AIUTA President recieved last monday 25th september Chinese delegates from Chinese Shandong U3As, lead by Mr Du, President of Shandong U3As, Vice President National Association of Chinese U3As and Prof Carmen Orte, Director U3A Balears. Meetings focussed U3A Summer University and Innovation for Education for all the life learning and exchange programmes between AIUTA members.

UN’s International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) will be celebrated throughout October. The vigorous, empowering theme for the celebration is 'Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society'. IDOP will be celebrated around the world at hundreds of different events. It’s all about enabling and expanding the contributions of older people to their families, communities and to societies at large. The focus is on the pathways that support full and effective participation in old age, in accordance with basic rights, needs and preferences – community, lifelong learning, work and economic security.
