|
Location: Situated at the heart of England, between Birmingham and Coventry, Solihull is a thriving town with a population of around 215,000 and has a reputation as a great place to live. It offers very easy access to the attractions of a big city (theatres, museums, etc), and to many beautiful countryside walks. Blossomfield (Solihull) u3a was formed in 2000 and is one of several u3a's in the Solihull Cluster. Membership: Our u3a is a friendly and active group of around 120 members. The monthly Core Meetings are normally attended by approximately two-thirds of our members. Activity Groups: Our groups offer a wide range of activities to keep us all both mentally and physically active. Some examples are: Books, Local Studies (visits to places of interest), Music Appreciation, Family History, Walking (3 levels), Social Lunching. Each group has a leader or co-ordinator who has a particular interest in the subject. We are always on the lookout for new ideas. Personal message: We joined Blossomfield (Solihull) u3a in January 2017, having recently retired and moved into the Solihull area knowing no-one! Through the u3a, we now have many new friends and have discovered so much about the area in which we live. Its a great way to make friends, learn new skills, and have some fun!
