UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE (U3A) in Botswana is a voluntary group of interdisciplinary scholars, researchers and other community builders interested in activities and services for the golden years of 55 years and over.

our motto is ‘being empowered through empowering others.’ U3A is the first facility in Botswana to focus on inclusion of third agers (55years and over) in the building of an inclusive economy, inclusive communities, participatory research and coordinated services particularly for empowerment, transformation and resilience like quality education, community development, good governance, age with rights, legal empowerment, intergenerational activities; digital literacy and giving back to the communities.

Services and activities under U3A are diverse and provided by relevant organizations and networks servicing third agers 55years and over) such as the Network of Retired Academics (NeRA), Ageless Inspirations and Alumni organizations.
